We are seeking a seasoned IT Infrastructure Manager with 10+ years of relevant experience to oversee and maintain the technology infrastructure across our organization, which includes up to 17 geographically distributed sites comprising of offices and warehouses. This role is responsible for managing a system administrator and external vendors, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our IT systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to issue escalation and resolution. The IT Infrastructure Manager will play a critical role in supporting business operations through robust infrastructure management, vendor coordination, and strategic technology planning.

The IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, and administration of the company’s cloud and on-premises systems. This role ensures the security, availability, and reliability of systems and networks, manages technology vendors, and enforces IT policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is highly technical, organized, and autonomous, with strong sense of due diligence and leadership skills to operate with minimal oversight.

  • Lead and manage the IT Infrastructure team, providing guidance, coaching and performance feedback to ensure a high level of professionalism and timely issue resolution.
  • Oversee daily operations, including server hardware / software, network and cloud-based systems.
  • Architect, implement, and maintain virtualized servers in co-location data centers and private cloud.
  • Manage SD-WAN, IPsec / BGP tunneling and Microsoft 365 tenant administration.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to align infrastructure with organizational goals.
  • Oversee incident, request, problem and change management processes, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with involved parties and end users.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and optimizations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the IT Infrastructure team with strong documentation and change management discipline.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential benefits to the IT infrastructure environment.
  • Develop and maintain procedures, workflows and documentation to ensure efficient and consistent support processes.
  • Handle escalated issues and complex technical issues, providing guidance and support to other IT teams.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Provide hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for a wide range of IT systems, hardware and software.
  • Lead in planning and implementing IT projects, including upgrades, migrations and deployments while ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Support onboarding / offboarding utilizing existing technologies and possible future implementation of orchestration technologies.
  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources.
  • Monitor and support the execution of IT operational policies, procedures and standards to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Manage vendor relationships ensuring service level agreements are met and maximizing value for the company.
  • Implement and enforce security measures and policies to protect the company against internal and external cybersecurity threats.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery / business continuity plans.
  • Monitor infrastructure and implement proactive measures to identify and resolve vulnerabilities and performance issues.

    This position manages all key direct reports of the department and is responsible for the performance management of the employees within that department.

    Previous Work Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience of IT infrastructure experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience in supervising IT personnel and providing support in a complex IT environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge across multiple IT domains including network infrastructure, operating systems, hardware and software applications.
  • Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Experience Requirements and Preferences

  • Principles and processes for providing customer service including quality standards for services and evaluation of end user satisfaction.
  • Understands how to communicate difficult / sensitive information tactfully.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.
  • Adaptability to new equipment and technology to serve user needs.

    Work Environment

    Work time will be spent in an office setting, but some time may be necessary in a warehouse environment around moving powered industrial equipment where temperatures are hot or cold (seasonally), and may be subjected to loud noises.
