Job description

Lead Security Officer

The Lead Security Officer assists in ensuring medical center safety and security during assigned shifts and during emergency situations. Conducts safety inspections, responds to code designated incidents and other emergencies. The Lead Security Officer writes comprehensive reports detailing causes, actions and responses and is also responsible for investigating crimes and other incidents and submits related reports and recommendations. Performs dispatch duties when necessary. The Lead Security Officers handles sensitive tasks, is expected to lead officers and to display leadership abilities.

Locations : Stanford Health Care

The Lead Security Officer will :

  • Adhere to all Joint Commission Requirements and Service Standards of the Hospital(s)
  • Conduct safety inspections and respond to incidents and emergencies
  • Ensure medical center safety and security during shifts and emergencies
  • Investigate crimes and submit related reports and recommendations
  • Assign Security Officer Duties and represent Security interests in operational discussions
  • Serve as backup to shift supervisor and provide field leadership
  • Focus on investigations and provide backup to officers and management
  • Act as a formal field support leader in training and compliance

Education Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience Qualifications :

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
  • Successfully pass the following training within the first six months of hire : De-escalation, CPI, Patient rights and holding, Psychiatric Security Training, Handcuffing
  • Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of police / law enforcement procedures and techniques
  • Licenses and Certifications :

  • CADL - California Drivers License - Valid And In State required
  • SGRC - Security Guard Registration Card required within 90 Days or
  • PPSO - California Proprietary Private Security Officer License required within 90 Days
  • Physical Demands and Work Conditions :

  • Category II - Tasks that involve NO exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, but employment may require performing unplanned Category I tasks

    Base Pay Scale : Generally starting at $32.56 - $36.66 per hour

    The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
