Locum Physician Assistant (PA) - Urgent Care in California

We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 91-day locum tenens assignment in California. Starting Dec 1, 2025, this position offers a dynamic mix of ER and urgent care responsibilities, with 8-hour shifts that include both same day and next day appointments as well as walk-in care. The schedule features urgent care shifts from 11 : 00 to 19 : 30 and rapid care in the emergency department from 14 : 00 to 22 : 00. Candidates must have recent ER and urgent care experience and be comfortable utilizing the Epic EMR system. Job Details Location : California Start Date : Dec 1, 2025 LOA : 91 days Provider Type Needed : Urgent Care Physician Assistant Schedule : Urgent Care : 11 : 00–19 : 30; Rapid Care (in ED) : 14 : 00–22 : 00; 8-hour shifts Responsibilities and Duties Provide patient care for both scheduled same day / next day appointments and walk-in visits in a mixed ER and urgent care setting Evaluate and manage a broad spectrum of acute illnesses and injuries typical of rapid care and urgent care environments Perform clinical assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and initiate appropriate treatment plans Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, timely care Document all patient encounters and care provided using Epic EMR Maintain compliance with established clinical protocols and regulatory requirements Apply clinical expertise in both emergency and urgent care scenarios Additional Information Must have active California license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Recent and significant ER and urgent care experience is essential Familiarity with Epic EMR preferred Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
