Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Manager Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 24 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, flexible Employment Type : Travel Shift Information : Mondays-Fridays Nursing Manager / Director 3 years exp required Job Title : Manager, Surgical Services Department Reports to : Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Department : Surgical Services FLSA Status : Exempt Position Summary Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Manager of Surgical Services is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the Surgical Services Department. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, and age-appropriate patient care in accordance with hospital policies, standards of care, and regulatory requirements. The manager exercises independent judgment in administrative decisions and promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization while maintaining a high level of confidentiality. Minimum Education & Licensure Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Maine Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification — required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification — required (may obtain within 6 months of hire) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification — required (may obtain within 6 months of hire) Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) — required Required Experience & Skills Minimum 3 years of perioperative experience Demonstrated clinical proficiency in providing age-appropriate care using the nursing process Proven leadership and management skills , including : Strong communication and interpersonal skills Effective organization and time management Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities Ability to function independently and make sound administrative decisions Advanced computer skills and proficiency with electronic medical records Ability to respond rapidly and effectively in emergency situations Key Responsibilities Direct and manage all operations of the Surgical Services Department, including staff supervision, scheduling, budgeting, and quality improvement initiatives Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory standards Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that promotes professional development and teamwork Oversee the delivery of safe and effective perioperative nursing care for patients of all ages Participate in hospital committees and quality initiatives as assigned by the CNO Serve as a resource and liaison between staff, physicians, patients, and administration Maintain confidentiality and uphold organizational mission, vision, and values About Talent4Health A leader and innovator, offering comprehensive talent solutions for the healthcare industry across the nation.
