Airport Training Programs Manager
Under the direction of Airport Safety, Engagement & Training (ASET) Senior Manager, incumbent is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing world class training programs and initiatives to ensure safe and exceptional performance for the Salt Lake City Department of Airports (SLCDA). Incumbent ensures that all training is completed, tracked and records maintained to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and SLCDA Mission Statement. Incumbent ensures that safety policies, procedures, and practices are followed and aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Requires the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of diverse employee groups in various settings. Also requires excellent written communication skills and the ability to make independent decisions when necessary. Ability to problem solve and effectively manage competing priorities. Incumbent assists with other duties as assigned by the ASET Senior Manager.
The Salt Lake City Department of Airports is seeking a dynamic Training Programs Manager to join our team! This role is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering world-class training programs that promote safety, compliance, and operational excellence across the airport. The incumbent will design and implement engaging training initiatives, maintain accurate records to ensure regulatory compliance, and serve as a resource to employees at all levels. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety and continuous learning.

$86,660 - $96,289 based on qualifications and experience.

Typical Duties
Researches, develops, and presents required employee safety training on a variety of topics for various work groups. Coordinates scheduling, documentation and record keeping of department safety-related training.Coordinates and develops various safety and regulatory topics needed for employee training. Including but not limited to Confined Space, Aerial Lift, Hearing Conservation Program, Hazcom, Bloodborne Pathogens and Lock / Out / Tag / Out.Develop and deliver other training courses as required.May deliver and / or administer CPR / AED training.Assists with the coordination of the safety committee meetings and serves as a backup to the manager and leads the meetings when needed.Assists with New Employee Orientation.Supports and maintains the established training program budget.Performs other related duties as needed.Training Manager :
Identify and drive key areas of learning opportunitiesResearch, develop and continuous improvement of training programs and curriculum to ensure they are relevant, accurate and comply with regulatory requirements and meet the needs of Salt Lake City Department of AirportsFacilitate and present in-person training sessionsSchedule training events, identify speakers and facilities necessary to accommodate training needsSLCDA Learning Management System (LMS) AdministratorCreate eLearning coursesAssist employees with troubleshooting LMS issues and provide technical assistanceMaintain accurate records for regulatory complianceEnsure compliance with all local, state and federal regulationsPrepare and submit regular reports on training activitiesRemain up to date with new training methods and techniquesBuild and maintain relationships within all departments of SLCDA and align training programs with organizational goalsDevelop, plan and deliver world class training programsASET Program Manager :
May conduct on-site visits at various work locations to perform safety audits for gap analysis and discover trends where improvement is needed.May coordinate safety related projects including activities involving safety related vendors or consultants.May assist in and / or develops safety programs to comply with OSHA regulations.May assist with quarterly safety and environmental assessments of each area.May cover Safety on Duty on a rotating basisMinimum Qualifications :
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field plus five (5) years' related work experience. Related education and / or experience may be substituted, one for the other, on a year for year basis.Experience developing and delivering training programs.Effective verbal and written communication skills.A thorough understanding of the aviation industry with particular emphasis on airport safety compliance, operations, and emergency response.Working knowledge of UOSH, OSHA, DOT Omnibus Act and related safety regulations.Works well with, and relates to, diverse employee groups under various conditions.Proficiency in the use of computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. and any safety data tracking or design software.Experience using safety-related tools, instruments, and materials.Possession of a valid driver's license or driving privilege card.Desired Qualifications :
Possession of an aviation certification through an accredited program such as American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) or Airports Council International (ACI).Possession of various safety related certifications such as OSHA Compliance Certification, OSHA 10 or 30 hour or ability to obtain within one (1) year after awarded with position.Experience delivering various training programs to diverse employee groups.Ability to handle conflict resolution; have a positive attitude; work well under pressure and a propensity for collaborative teamwork.Working knowledge of FEMA, ICS, EPA, UDEQ and Department related regulations.Experience working in an airport environment and thorough knowledge of the aviation industry and the applicable safety compliance requirements.Certification as a CPR and / or AED instructor.Working Conditions :
Light to moderate physical activity : mostly comfortable working conditions. Occasional work in various department locations which could include but not limited to, exposure to outside elements, noise, dust, dirt, and heights. Periods of frequent sitting, standing and walking with occasional overhead reaching, stooping, squatting climbing and maneuvering into various confined spaces. Lifting of light to moderate weighing equipment.Exposure to possible stressful situations as a result of human behavior.Required to occasionally work non-traditional hours to accommodate incident investigations, required training and program needs.All requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
