E - I Lead

The E&I Lead is responsible for working closely with process and project engineers to develop construction schedules, design data, and instrumentation / electrical (I&E) equipment requirements for new capital projects. This role leads a team of 13-15 I&E Technicians and E&I Designers, ensuring alignment and coordination with process and project engineering teams. The I&E Lead also directs the start-up of I&E equipment for chemical processes, maintains design and calibration documentation, and provides technical oversight to ensure safe and reliable operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee development of project deliverables, including loop sheets, one-line diagrams, I / O lists, instrument procurement / installation, and commissioning.
• Partner with Project and Process Engineers to size and specify process instrumentation (e.g., flow meters, RTDs, pressure transmitters, level transmitters, load cells).
• Collaborate with engineers to develop and maintain DCS and PLC control logic for chemical processes.
• Commission, start up, and optimize instrumentation and control systems for new and existing processes.
• Provide technical support to operations teams for process improvement and control system optimization.
• Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on instrumentation, control systems, networks, and electrical equipment as needed.
• Maintain calibration records, design data, and documentation for I&E systems.
• Ensure safety and environmental considerations are built into project design, startup, and ongoing operations.
• Provide electrical construction oversight during project execution.
• Manage and mentor team members; provide performance feedback using established performance management tools.
• Review and approve weekly time entries for all assigned employees in SAP (CATS).
• Handle complex projects and issues, escalating only the most advanced problems as necessary.
• Work independently under minimal supervision.
