Responsibilities Work in a 26-bed Med / Surg Telemetry unit of a tertiary care hospital Primary patient population includes CHF, acute MI, post device care (e.g., pacemakers), and arrhythmia cases Patient ratios range from 1 : 5 to 1 : 7 Day / night rotating 12-hour shifts are required Floating to other units is required Epic is used for EMR and proficiency is mandatory Core responsibilities involve management of cardiac and respiratory conditions, IV therapies, and participation in rapid response and code teams Must adhere to unit scrub color policy : any combination of navy and white First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment Holiday coverage may be required according to hospital policy Approved RTO must be discussed prior to assignment start Return staff are eligible after 1 year off Requirements Active NY RN license in hand is required Minimum of 1 year recent Med / Surg Telemetry nursing experience Current BLS and ACLS certifications Must be proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response procedures Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, respiratory management, and isolation precautions Epic charting experience is required Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-618978.
