Med / Surg RN Job Details – Washington, DC Location : Washington, DC 20060 – Prime access to museums, restaurants, and public transportation Unit : Med Surg 5 East (22 beds, 16 rooms) Assignment Length : 13 weeks Shift : Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19 : 30 - 08 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Start Date : December 1, 2025 End Date : March 2, 2026 Employment Type : Travel nursing job Block Scheduling : Yes Parking : Multiple options including hospital lots and street parking; accessible via Metro and bus lines Estimated Weekly Salary : $1570 - $1680 Med / Surg RN Qualifications Active DC Registered Nurse license required at time of submission Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg RN experience BLS certification required Telemetry nursing experience required COVID-19 vaccination required (no exemptions) Ability to work every other weekend and holiday Willingness to float between similar units and affiliate hospitals Two supervisor references required Preferred : Previous charge nurse experience, ACLS certification Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with renal, cardiac, endocrine, GI, GU, hematological, neurological, and integumentary disorders Perform procedures : urinary catheter insertion, NGT insertion, IV insertion, chest tube management, wound care, surgical drainage, and vented patient management Monitor patients on BIPAP / CPAP therapy, dialysis catheters, central lines, and telemetry Utilize medical equipment : vein finders, bladder scanners, infusion pumps, suction pumps Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams Float to similar units or affiliate hospitals as needed Maintain accurate documentation using SIS charting system Participate in orientation and ongoing professional development Apply now for this Med / Surg Registered Nurse travel job in Washington, DC and join our dedicated healthcare team!
