American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position caring for acute leukemia and hematology patients, requiring an OH or compact RN license and at least 2 years of nursing experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a hospital Progressive Care Unit (PCU) specializing in acute leukemia and hematologyAdult and geriatric patient population with a primary focus on newly diagnosed acute leukemia casesStaffing ratios are typically 1 : 4, with a maximum of 1 : 5Day and night shifts available (3x12 hours), with schedule flexibility and self-scheduling prior to finalizationVariable weekend requirements based on unit needsEPIC is used for electronic chartingNo chemotherapy certification requiredRole involves a strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall preventionParticipation in Rapid Response Teams is expectedFirst week includes orientation on dayshift; second week includes 36 hours of precepted on-unit orientationFirst-time travelers may be screened for considerationAll candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon contract signingRTO (requested time off) must be requested and approved as part of the contractLocal candidates are accepted at the same rateScrub or dress code details not specified\n \n Requirements\n
Active OH or compact RN license in hand at the time of considerationMinimum of 2 years RN experience requiredBLS and ACLS certifications requiredExperience in MS / Tele, telemetry monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation requiredProficiency with IV therapy, feeding tube care, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and management of central, peripheral, and PICC lines requiredEducation must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing programTwo professional references required, with at least one from a supervisor or formal leaderFormer employees eligible after a 6-month break from the facilityCurrent employees at Ohio State University hospitals not eligible\n Benefits\n
