Training & Retention Specialist – Skilled Nursing Facilities

About the Role
We are looking for an energetic, collaborative Training & Retention Specialist to support staff development and workforce retention across our Skilled Nursing Facilities. This role plays a key part in building strong teams, supporting new hires through onboarding and mentorship, and promoting a culture that prioritizes quality care, teamwork, and employee growth.
This is a hands-on, highly interactive position for someone who loves teaching, motivating others, and building a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging orientation, onboarding, and competency training to new hires.
Provide coaching and ongoing support to newly hired clinical and non-clinical staff.
Partner with facility leadership to address barriers to employee retention and engagement.
Conduct skill assessments, training documentation, and competency evaluations.
Maintain classroom and floor-based training schedules.
Assist with recognition programs, employee check-ins, and retention initiatives.
Promote a positive workplace culture that aligns with company values and resident care standards.
Track retention metrics and provide regular updates to leadership.
Qualifications
Experience with training, mentoring, or staff development (preferred in healthcare).
Previous experience in Skilled Nursing, LTC, or Assisted Living strongly preferred.
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to motivate, educate, and support employees at all levels.
Skilled at time management, organization, and follow-through.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements (LTC / SNF) is a plus.
HR background is highly preferred.
