Description :
Replacing a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in a solo position.
This position requires no call and no weekends.
The focus will be 90% on cardiac studies versus general nuclear studies.
The technologist will manage the daily operations of the nuclear lab.
The role includes preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals or radioactive material intravenously or orally to detect or treat diseases.
Candidates will use radioisotope equipment under the direction of a Radiologist.
The technologist will be responsible for detecting and mapping radiopharmaceuticals in patients' bodies using a gamma camera to produce images.
They will produce computer-generated images for interpretation by a physician.
Calculating, measuring, and recording radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used, and disposed of is required, following the physician’s prescription.
Quality control checks on laboratory equipment or cameras are to be performed.
The technologist will maintain and calibrate radioisotope and laboratory equipment.
Disposing of radioactive materials and storing radiopharmaceuticals must follow radiation safety procedures.
The role includes processing general nuclear medicine images and cardiac stress tests.
Preparing radiopharmaceuticals must adhere to safety standards that minimize radiation exposure to workers and patients.
Recording and processing the results of procedures is necessary.
The technologist will explain all aspects of procedures to patients and keep patients and families informed of safety precautions, waiting times, and the progress of procedures as needed.
All team members are expected to contribute to a culture of support, particularly when interacting with students and new hires.
