Position Summary :
As a Service Technician with Hesco Services you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair and inspections of conveyors, hoists, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment. If you are someone who loves to work and learn with their hands, has the ability to gets things done quickly, safely; has a strong mechanical aptitude; ability to make good technical decisions; solve tough and complex mental problems; fast learner; stellar customer service skills; strives for continuous improvement of work processes; set priorities then drives hard and fast to achieve them then we want to hear from you!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Primarily perform Electrical and Mechanical maintenance on automated packaging and distribution equipment.
- Perform assigned tasks to include, but not limited to, Dematic, Intelligrated and Hytrol package sort systems.
- Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions
- Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem area
- Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems
- Removes and replaces worn or defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic system
- Realigns and adjusts components such as spindles and clutches
- Sets up and operates metal working tools such as lathe, drill press, or grinder, to make or repair parts
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education / Experience :
High school diploma / (GED)3 years of related mechanical and electrical experience with some troubleshooting experienceRelevant knowledge of warehousing / distribution, pallet rack design, material handling equipment etc., is a plus!Qualifications :
Perform the installation process abiding by all OSHA, DOT, and site-specific safety precautionsMust have a mechanical aptitude along with basic welding and fabrication skillsMust have a valid drivers’ license with a good driving recordMust have U.S. Work AuthorizationMust be able to pass background checks and ongoing random drug screeningsKnowledge and ability to properly utilize a variety of hand and power toolsComply with all safety rules and regulations both within the company premises as well as on customer’s jobsites, including client specific on-site trainingUtilize sound decision making and problem-solving practicesHas experience with rigging and lifting equipment with cranes, forklifts, telehandler, etc.Proper and safe use of company vehicle, comfortable towing and backing up trailers as well securing loads with chains or straps as necessaryWork efficiently with othersQuick comprehension, flexible and punctualHigh standard of quality and attention to detailAbility to follow instructions and work independently with limited direct supervision after trainingOutstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, customers, and subcontractorsCapable to comfortably work at heights on scissor lift, ladders, scaffolding, etc.Maintain work area and vehicle in clean and orderly conditionTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge in the use of computers and basic data entry skillsPositive attitude and ability to comply with company policies and proceduresConsistently maintain the highest standards in serving the customer’s needsMaintain and strengthen customer relationships by acting professionally and as a representation of the Hoj valuesAbility to work on-call rotationsWillingness to travel if necessary and work occasional overtime hoursPhysical Requirements :
Must be able to stand and work for long hours with necessary tools and PPE.Able to perform physical labor including lifting / moving heavy objects up to 100 lbs., prolonged standing, sitting, bending, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and reachingMust be able to work indoors and outdoors in various year-round weather conditionsBenefits Offered :
