As a Senior CNC Programmer, you’ll play a critical role in transforming complex designs into precision-cut steel components essential for major construction projects. You’ll program CNC equipment, optimize production processes, and collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Key Responsibilities : Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for steel fabrication machinery, including plasma cutters, laser cutters, drill lines, beam lines, saws, and robotic welders. Interpret complex fabrication drawings, blueprints, and 3D models for projects such as bridges, stadiums, transportation systems, healthcare facilities, and commercial structures. Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure CNC programs align with project specifications and manufacturing capabilities. Troubleshoot and refine CNC programs to improve machine efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity. Maintain CNC program libraries and documentation, ensuring version control and accurate records. Assist in developing standardized procedures for CNC programming and machining operations. Provide technical support and training to CNC machine operators. Collaborate on process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. What You Need to Have : Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC programming within steel fabrication, preferably focused on structural steel for large-scale projects. Proficiency in CAD / CAM software (e.g., Tekla, AutoCAD, SigmaNEST, ProNest, or similar). Strong understanding of CNC machinery used in structural steel fabrication, such as beam lines, plasma tables, drill lines, and saws. Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and 3D models. Experience working on projects in bridges, stadiums / arenas, transportation, healthcare, or commercial sectors. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective communication skills for collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams. The Musts : Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Solid understanding of material properties and fabrication techniques for structural steel.
