Overview
The County of Riverside Office of the District Attorney is recruiting post-bar law clerks (Law Clerk II) for Spring and Fall 2025, with the possibility to become entry-level prosecutors after passing the California Bar Exam in 2025. Incumbents perform legal research and provide legal assistance to licensed attorneys, and perform other related duties as required. Positions are available throughout Riverside County, with priority given to vacancies in the Coachella Valley Office and the Colorado River Office. Incumbents are expected to work approximately a 40-hour work week. This position is primarily open to students who are enrolled or in their final year of a JD or an accredited Master of Law (LLM) program, or who have recently graduated from an accredited JD or LLM program, and who are first-time bar exam testers awaiting results for the California State Bar Exam scheduled in February or July 2025.
Depending on the area of assignment, the Law Clerk II is a natural progression underfill for the classification of Deputy District Attorney I. Incumbents are expected to promote to the Deputy District Attorney I after meeting the necessary requirements. Failure to promote may result in return to the former County classification or release prior to the end of the probationary period.
