About the Technology Department

The Technology team at Bridgewater engineers systems to understand the world. These systems synthesize and industrialize our global understanding into a hive mind of macroeconomic knowledge which enables us to educate and collaborate with the world's most influential central banks and policy makers and carefully and strategically manage the world's most important capital. Our technologists are engineering highly available, high performing and highly secure cloud platforms and infrastructure which support and scale our investing operations.

You Will Own the Following Responsibilities

  • Engineer extremely sophisticated tools and collaborating with some of Bridgewater's most sophisticated investors within our Investment Engine department.
  • Building the next generation platforms focused on systemizing Bridgewater's investment process from researching markets, to optimizing portfolios, to executing trades.
  • Building infrastructure (in a hybrid cloud environment) that operated some of the world's most sophisticated investment tools

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field graduating in Undergraduate in Spring 2025
  • Strong computer science fundamentals with a focus on backend, platform-level development
  • Software engineering experience either through a former internship in a rigorous environment (highly preferred) or through coding competitions, clubs, etc.
  • A strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving is crucial.
  • Experience coding in an industry-standard language (e.g. Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Location Requirements

    Bridgewater offers remote work flexibility with the anticipated onsite requirement for this role to be up to four days per week.

    Compensation

    The expected annual total compensation for this position is $225,000 plus a generous signing bonus. The total compensation package includes variable compensation in the form of a discretionary target bonus. The expected base salary for this role is approximately 70-80% of this wage range.
