Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical / Surgical Telemetry Float Pool position requiring a MO or compact RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and a minimum of 2 years’ experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in the float pool covering medical, surgical, renal, oncology, neuro, and cardiology units within a short-term acute care setting
  • Patient ratios are 1 : 5-6 for days and weekends, 1 : 6 for nights
  • Work schedule is 3x12 hour day shifts from 6 : 45 to 19 : 15 with every other weekend or at least 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule and a holiday rotation requirement
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating is required within all medical units and potentially to affiliate hospitals as needed
  • Float process may include pre-assignment and workers are required to call for specific shift assignment up to 1 hour before shift start
  • EPIC EMR is used; Epic experience preferred
  • Use of lift devices, ceiling lifts, and bladder scanners is required (training provided)
  • Navy blue scrubs are required
  • Responsibilities include providing nursing care across a broad range of units, including med / surg, telemetry, renal, oncology, neuro, and cardiology
  • Will work with a diverse healthcare team and float based on facility needs and patient census
  • Mandatory completion of online modules and orientation before start
  • RTO cannot exceed 7 days per 13-week contract and is not allowed during the first week of assignment
  • Holiday rotation coverage is required
  • Free employee parking is available on site
  • Assignments may extend up to 18 months for standard travelers, with a mandatory 3-month break after
  • Permanent employees must wait at least 1 year before returning as travelers
  • References may be requested during consideration

  • Active MO or compact RN license required at submission or consideration
  • BLS (BCLS) and ACLS certifications required
  • IV start and telemetry proficiency required
  • At least 2 years of recent RN experience in a hospital setting required
  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility—local candidates not accepted
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Must provide valid SSN and DOB for consideration
  • Must pass fit testing for proper mask use; facial hair must allow for proper fit
  • No medical marijuana cards accepted
  • Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
