Purpose
The Clinical Imaging Paramedic plays a vital role in supporting advanced imaging procedures while prioritizing patient safety and comfort. In this dynamic position, you will prepare patients for imaging studies, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and assist radiologists and technologists throughout procedures. This position reports to the Imaging Services Director and collaborates closely with radiologists, MRI / CT technologists, and nursing staff.
Responsibilities
- Patient Preparation and Monitoring
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by clearly explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
- Administer necessary medications and contrast agents.
- Monitor patient vitals before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety.
- Assisting During Procedures
- Assist radiologists and technologists with imaging procedures.
- Ensure proper patient positioning and the effective operation of imaging equipment.
- React promptly to any patient emergencies or adverse reactions during procedures.
- Patient Education and Support
- Provide thorough pre- and post-procedure instructions to patients.
- Educate patients on the significance of adhering to imaging protocols.
- Offer reassurance and unwavering support to patients throughout their visit.
- Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation meticulously.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating imaging appointments efficiently.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and standards consistently.
- Equipment Maintenance and Safety
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on imaging equipment to ensure functionality.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in the imaging suite.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately to relevant personnel.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.2 years of relevant experience as a paramedic in a clinical or healthcare setting.Certification as a Paramedic (NREMT-P) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree in a related field.3 years of experience in advanced imaging or a similar role.Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).Salary Range
$50,000+ depending on qualifications.
