As a Development Communications Associate - Grant Writer, you will serve as writer, editor, and brand champion for a wide range of communication projects that support the fundraising efforts of the Cleveland Clinic Philanthropy Institute.

A caregiver in this position works remotely out of Northeast Ohio, Monday-Friday from 8 : 00AM – 5 : 00PM.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with writing letters, scripts and reports for target audiences including donors, prospects, physicians, patients and Foundations.
  • Contribute to written and visual content on healthcare programs, medical research and Cleveland Clinic initiatives for current and prospective donors.
  • Synthesize content into compelling, donor-centric materials that align with the tone and brand of Cleveland Clinic.
  • Write, edit, proofread and package both internal and external communications for the Philanthropy Institute.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all internal and external deadlines are met.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of writing experience required, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Excellent written communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to excel in a highly interactive, dynamic team environment.
  • Experience in creating communications strategies and implementing communications plans.
  • Maintains relationships and collaborates with all necessary partners and clients while maintaining a high level of customer service and satisfaction and anticipating the needs of internal and external clients.
  • Excellent written communication and organizational skills.
  • Preferred qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with writing and securing nonprofit grants
  • Experience with scientific and / or medical research terminology and grant writing
  • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • In some locations, ability to move up to 15 lbs.
  • Personal Protective Equipment

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Pay Range

  • Minimum hourly : $22.85
  • Maximum hourly : $34.85
  • The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Compensation may be hourly or salary depending on the role. Benefits include healthcare / dental / vision and retirement.
