Engineering Intern - Part of Production and Market Team

Summary :
We are looking for a sophomore, junior, or senior to support engineering projects, perform data analysis, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. The Market Team Engineering intern should be a motivated and independent individual willing to work with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to optimize processes. This would be a summer internship for 2026.
Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
Your tasks :
Assist in the development of products, as assigned, with research, development, measurement, data collection and testing.
Enhance quality control systems through data analysis, implement automation of data collection, and develop customer-centric specifications based on real data
Develop, prepare, analyze, and present reports to identify and recommend engineering solutions.
Work with engineers across a variety of disciplines to build simulation templates (e.g., thermal, mechanical) and catalog knowledge in a central location for communication to customers.
Interface with other internal teams (i.e., production), external customers, and suppliers in a professional and courteous manner.
Develop business plans and proposals highlighting the ROI and value to the business for investing in new operations or technologies.
Share technical data and knowledge with non-technical team members, break down technical information into laymen’s terms that anyone in the organization can understand.
Your required qualifications :
Required :
Enrolled student majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Polymer Science or related fields
Proficiency in basic statistical methods, familiarity with advanced techniques is a plus
Experience using Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) with emphasis on Excel for reporting and some data analysis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to work independently and in a team-based environment with minimal supervision
Eager to learn and accept challenges
Must be detail-oriented and possess excellent follow-up skills
Preferred :
Experience using data processing or statistical software (i.e., JMP, Minitab)
Prior experience working with automation of data flows using tools like Microsoft Power Apps / Workflows, Microsoft Access, JMP / JSL, or other programs is a plus
Ability and willingness to leverage the latest technology and solutions available in line with company policy, driving the implementation of new software or techniques
Prior experience with model-building and Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods, including control charts and process capability analysis
Exposure to project management or planning tools like Gantt charts or Microsoft Project
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, experience in an ISO 9001 certified facility is a plus
Prior experience working with customers and suppliers
