Job descriptionPerform evaluations and create individualized treatment plans for acute inpatient cases. Manage a daily caseload of 8–10 patients, including total joints, CVA, CHF, COPD, and sepsis. Deliver therapeutic interventions focused on ADLs, functional mobility, cognitive retraining, and discharge readiness. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, including PTs, nurses, physicians, and case management. Utilize clinical knowledge of pathology, lab values, and functional limitations to guide treatment. Provide OT coverage in both the ED and Med-Surg areas. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR. Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations. Ensure patient safety and follow all facility and infection prevention protocols. Strong understanding of pathology, lab values, and interdisciplinary communication. Acute care or inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred (minimum 1 year strongly recommended). Active Arizona Occupational Therapist (OT) license required (must be in hand). AHA BLS certification required . 5×8s or 4×10s (Sun–Wed or Wed–Sat). Weekend coverage : 2–3 days per month. Holiday rotation required. No self-scheduling. Job Summary
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides skilled acute inpatient therapy services across the Emergency Department (ED) and Med-Surg units. The OT evaluates, treats, and develops individualized rehabilitation plans for patients with diverse medical conditions to restore functional independence and promote safe discharge planning.
