Assignment Length : 13 weeks

Start Date : November 17, 2025

End Date : February 16, 2026

Shift : 12-hour nights (6 : 45 PM – 7 : 15 AM)

Hours per Week : 36

Unit : Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), 9 beds

Self-scheduling and flexible scheduling options available

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1570 - $1680

PICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state

Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

Minimum 1 year of recent PICU RN experience required

Ability to float to Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as needed

Proficiency with Cerner electronic health record system preferred

Must follow hospital dress code : navy blue or white scrubs (navy pants and white tops acceptable)

PICU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU

Manage patient assignments with a 1 : 1–2 nurse-to-patient ratio

Perform IV starts, catheterizations, lumbar puncture assistance, central line dressing changes, and hemodynamic monitoring

Provide tracheostomy care, tube feeding and placement, intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, and ventilator management

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner

Participate in self-scheduling and work at least 3 weekends in a 6-week schedule

Float to Pediatric and NICU units as needed to support clinical operations
