Scope of Job : Responsible for providing a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of physician in accordance with established guidelines and standards. Duty assignments may vary and include, but not limited to back-office functions and some front office functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Meets and greets patients
- Review requests for release of patient information to ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Monitors physicians schedules and organizes flow for physicians' office visits or in-office procedures.
- Completes referrals, prior authorizations for physicians and ensures they are handled promptly and efficiently, making sure to communicate with patients about future appointments.
- Performs other assigned duties per manager

Follows all practice protocols and established standards that promote a safe and productive work environmentPractices standard Precautions, including handwashing and disposal of bio-hazardous material & complies with established risk management, HIPAA, and safety proceduresSupports practice's procedures and policies for proper cleaning and routine maintenanceMaintains work area and lab in neat and orderly mannerPromptly reports equipment malfunctions to the office managerPerforms other assigned duties per managerCommunication :
Communicates in a professional manner, demonstrates effective and appropriate oral and written communication skills with patients, staff, and healthcare providersReturns patient calls and voicemails in a timely mannerAttends required meetings and in servicesPerforms other assigned duties per managerPerforms lab duties as needed : Phlebotomy, order entry, venipuncture, proper handling of tube and performing end of day tasks i.e., sending out labs and any other tasks assigned by managerDaily clean and stock exam roomscheck expiration dates on suppliesCoordinates calls and calls in prescription refills to pharmacies under physician supervisionRecords vital signs; Performs EKG, spirometry and or other similar non-complex office procedures.Triage patients, including but not limited to vital signs, obtaining height and weight, preforming medication reconciliation and medical history while ensuring that all information in the EMR is correct and up to dateAssist physicians with exams, administer injections and immunizations, and administer medications (intramuscular, subcutaneous)Preforms emergency life-saving procedures if necessary; perform in office tests including but not limited to A1c, blood glucose check, hemoglobin, urine samples, hemoccult, Hep C, HIV, swabs including flu A / B, covid, mono, strep and RSV.Performs other assigned duties per managerMinimum Education Required :
High School diploma or G.E.D
Accreditation from Medical Assistant program required
Minimum Experience Required :
1-year primary care / family medicine setting experience required. Pediatrics experience preferred but not required
Additional Qualifications :
