We are looking for a dedicated Legal Secretary to join our client's team in Arlington, Virginia. This permanent role involves supporting attorneys specializing in land use practice, requiring strong organizational and administrative skills. The ideal candidate will excel in managing legal documentation, proofreading, and assisting with various administrative tasks in a detail-oriented legal environment.
Responsibilities :
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys in the land use practice area.
- Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence with a high level of accuracy.
- Manage court filings and e-filing processes efficiently to ensure timely submissions.
- Organize and maintain case files using document management systems such as Worldox or iManage.
- Coordinate and maintain attorneys’ schedules, including meetings, deadlines, and court dates.
- Communicate with clients and external parties to facilitate case progress.
- Assist with research and preparation of materials related to land use cases.
- Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with legal procedures and requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and support for attorneys.
- Handle general office tasks, including phone calls and correspondence, as needed.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a legal secretary or assistant, preferably in land use or real estate law.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, and familiarity with document management systems such as Worldox or iManage.
- Skilled in e-filing and managing court filings with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational abilities and the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and formatting.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of legal procedures and terminology is essential.
- Detail-oriented approach and ability to maintain confidentiality.
