Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a Medical Device Manufacturer who is looking for a Project Engineer to join their team. Candidate should apply if they have a background within Medical Manufacturing, Automation Installation, and Capital Expenditure projects.
Position Summary
The Automation Manufacturing Project Engineer will be responsible for leading and managing capital projects related to automation and equipment implementation in a manufacturing environment. This role will drive the development, procurement, installation, and validation of new automated systems and equipment, ensuring seamless integration into existing manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will come from a medical manufacturing background, have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, work closely with suppliers, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic manufacturing goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end execution of automation and equipment capital projects, from concept through to deployment and validation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define equipment specifications, performance requirements, and project timelines.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with equipment vendors and automation suppliers.
- Support the development and implementation of automated solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and scalability.
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and site acceptance testing (SAT) of new equipment.
- Manage equipment validation activities including IQ / OQ / PQ as per quality and regulatory standards.
- Ensure seamless process transfer and operational readiness of new automated systems.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts during equipment start-up and ensure smooth handover to production teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation for project scope, changes, validations, and technical specifications.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, automation, or project management roles.Proven track record of managing capital equipment or automation projects.Strong knowledge of automated systems, robotics, PLCs, HMIs, and manufacturing integration.Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, and validation (IQ / OQ / PQ).Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation.Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills.Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles is a plus.Preferred Skills
PMP or equivalent project management certification.Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., pharmaceutical, medical device, food & beverage).Seniority level
