Job description

La Quinta Laundry Attendant

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations : The Madison Club, set outside of La Quinta, CA. The Madison Club is seeking a Laundry Attendant to join the Residential Services Department. The Laundry Attendant is responsible for cleaning, folding, and maintaining the linens and towels, and maintains the cleanliness and order of the laundry facilities. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collects all dirty linen, robes, and towels / rags to the laundry station.
  • Pre-treats linen and removes stains from laundry using appropriate procedures.
  • Operates washers and dryers according to recommended capacity and other manufacturer guidelines.
  • Inspects laundry for cleanliness.
  • Folds, irons, and stores clean linens.
  • Delivers clean towels and robes and returns to the bathrooms, locker rooms, kitchens, and dining rooms.
  • Empties and relines all waste containers.
  • Completes daily shift checklist.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the washer and dryers.
  • Sets up and organizes work station, and maintains order in laundry room.
  • Monitors and controls supplies, and minimizes waste within laundry facility.
  • Uses approved chemicals and cleaning products in accordance with Company policies.
  • Records and reports damages and loss of linen to management.
  • Assists with other housekeeping duties if needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 6 months of previous drycleaning or housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in professional cleaning or housekeeping, preferably in a high-end residential or hospitality setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and best practices for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to apply them in the workplace.
  • Safety conscious at all times in use of machinery and chemicals to avoid injury to self and others.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the clubhouse.

  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours / schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
