A highly regarded Bethesda law firm is seeking an Estate Planning Attorney to join its trusts and estates practice. The ideal candidate will have experience advising individuals, families, and business owners on estate planning, wealth transfer, and estate administration matters. This position offers the opportunity to handle sophisticated planning work within a collaborative and client-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Maryland Bar in good standing (D.C. Bar admission a plus)
  • 3+ years of experience in estate planning and trust / estate administration
  • Strong knowledge of estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws
  • Excellent drafting skills for wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related documents
  • Ability to manage complex client matters with attention to detail and precision
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and client relationship skills
  • Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on estate planning, tax strategies, charitable giving, and business succession planning
  • Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
  • Handle trust and estate administration, including probate and fiduciary matters
  • Provide guidance on wealth transfer and asset protection strategies
  • Coordinate with accountants, financial advisors, and other professionals to develop comprehensive plans
  • Stay current on federal and state tax law changes affecting estate planning
  • Deliver high-quality legal service with a client-centered approach
