Overview
The Sports Instructor ensures an organized, safe, and impactful sports program operation for all participants. The Instructor will assist with the planning, leading, and supervision of youth and adult sports including practices, clinics, and games.

Schedule - Coaching, score keeping, and referring youth Basketball and / or Volleyball
- Saturday, 8 : 00am - 2 : 00pm
- Some weekdays after 4 : 00pm
Responsibilities
Plan, lead, and supervise assigned youth and adult sport practices, clinics, and gamesPrepare sports fields and courts for use including equipment set up and breakdownMaintain all sports equipment used by the sports departmentMaintain a safe environment ensuring playing areas are suitable for game playEnsure a safe program operation for all participantsProvide continual instruction and supervision of group and serve as a leaderServe as score keeper for assigned gamesAttend and actively participate in assigned staff meetingsMaintain a positive relationship with staff, participants, volunteer coaches, and parentsTrack attendance of participants in games, clinics, and practices and maintain recordsFollow YMCA standards, procedures, guidelines, objectives and goalsDemonstrate enthusiasm in all phases of work with participantsEnsure effective communication with parents, colleagues, volunteers, and participantsInstill, teach and model YMCA values at all timesOther duties as assignedQualifications
Must be 18 years of age or olderMinimum of 6+ month's experience in organized youth and adult sportsPhysical ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform job related tasksMust have visual, physical, and auditory ability to act swiftly in emergency situationsLicensing, state law and our government funders require that staff within YMCA of San Diego County be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and includesubsequentarrest notificationsCPR / AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child / Infant, obtained within30 daysofhireand must be from one of the following certifying organizations :American Red Cross

Pay Range
USD $17.40 - USD $20.41 / Hr.
