Position Title : CNC Turret Lathe Machine Operator

Wage : $24.20 / hr + $2 shift premium

Shift : 2nd Shift

Hours : Monday – Thursday (3 : 35pm – 12 : 05am) Fridays start one hour earlier, at 2 : 35PM and end one hour earlier - Saturdays as needed.

This is a Direct Hire opportunity!

  • Must be able to train on 1st shift

1st Shift is 6 : 00 AM - 2 : 35PM and 5 : 00AM - 3 : 35PM for when overtime is in effect)

We ask all 2 shift applicants to be available 2 : 35PM - 2 : 05AM for when overtime is in effect, it is mandatory.

If hired for 2nd shift, must be willing to work on 2nd shift for at least the 1st year of employment.

GENERAL BASIC FUNCTIONS :

Puts program into CNC turret lathes, sets-up and operates one or two numerically controlled horizontal turret lathes to machine a wide variety of metal and non-metal parts according to print specification to meet plant quality and production standards.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :

  • Puts program into CNC turret lathes.
  • Reads process sheets and blueprints to operate three NC horizontal turret lathes.
  • Insures adequate coolant flow; detects and remedies malfunctions when possible.
  • Remedies excessive tool wear.
  • Observes correct machine operation as to cutting speeds, feed rates, dimension specifications and tolerances, cutting tools, barstock and other miscellaneous supplies and materials.
  • Observes numerical displays on control panel comparing data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and machine cutting speeds.
  • Over-rides controls as required to correct machine performance.
  • Verifies conformance of workpieces to print specifications using micrometers, calipers, and fixed gauges making adjustments and corrections as necessary.
  • Keeps production records.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and follows safe work practice rules
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as required.

    • POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

  • Education : Six months commercial, vocational, or other specialized training beyond high school.
  • Experience : Three to four years related experience.
