Patient Accounts Specialist

A company is looking for a Patient Accounts Specialist I - Follow-Up Team.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret and evaluate appeals, ensuring timely resolution and reimbursement for claims

Follow up with payers on accounts with no payment or partial payment received

Issue written appeals for claim denials and maintain knowledge of payer contracts

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required

1-2 years of experience in patient accounting, accounts receivable, or related healthcare field

Detailed knowledge of at least one specific payer's billing and collection process

Basic knowledge of UB04 and Explanation of Benefits (EOB)

Proficiency in hospital registration and billing systems, as well as Microsoft Excel and Word applications
