About The Position We are seeking an experienced Occupational Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Kansas. This two-day opportunity begins on Dec 11, 2025, and features day shifts from 7 : 00am to 5 : 00pm. The role involves conducting NFPA 1582 physicals and clinical testing for firefighters, including EKG interpretation, respirator clearances, and reviewing diagnostic studies. Job Details Location : Kansas Start Date : Dec 11, 2025 LOA : 2 days Provider Type Needed : Occupational Medicine Nurse Practitioner Schedule : 7 : 00am - 5 : 00pm; complete 1 exam every 15-20 minutes Responsibilities and Duties Conduct NFPA 1582 physicals for firefighters Perform respirator clearance and interim firefighter clearances Review and interpret EKGs, ultrasounds, and stress tests Complete clinical testing including hearing, vision, laboratory studies, pulmonary function, cardiograms, and x-rays Perform mandatory hernia exams; rectal exams are optional Work collaboratively with the PHS team to ensure thorough and efficient clinical testing Additional Information Firefighter physical or occupational medicine experience strongly preferred Must hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Must have Kansas state licensure Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP) required Ability to efficiently manage high patient volume with exams every 15-20 minutes Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
