Staff Accountant – Aspen, Colorado

Gecko Hospitality is now searching for an experienced and motivated Staff Accountant in Aspen, Colorado for a new property opening! The ideal Staff Accountant is a detail-oriented individual with bookkeeping experience who can accurately manage all aspects of the general ledger, payroll, tax filings, and financial reporting, ensuring numerical accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Accounts Payable (A / P), Accounts Receivable (A / R), and payroll.
  • Reconcile the general ledger and balance sheet accounts, as well as bank statements.
  • Handle all monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  • Calculate tax payments and returns and assist with monthly tax filings.
  • Prepare and manage profit and loss statements and ensure timely bank payments.
  • Maintain accounting records and support operational audits.

Compensation and Benefits :

  • Salary : up to $85,000

    • Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 2-3 years current experience as an Accountant; hospitality experience a plus but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA preferred
  • Outstanding oral, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work successfully as part of a team and independently
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP, accrual basis accounting and financial reporting
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing in order to meet deadlines
  • Thorough Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Ability to optimally present information and respond to question
  • Must be able to train out of state for 2-3 weeks
