Power BI Data Engineer

The PowerBI Data Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and refining robust data flows utilizing Fabric to deliver accurate, efficient, timely, and accessible analytics and reporting solutions. This position requires expertise in large data models using Power BI, SQL, Fabric, and related tools, with a strong focus on managing capacity and refining complex fact tables to viable data models that support business decision-making.

Duties / Responsibilities :

Design, develop, and maintain efficient data flows using Fabric and PowerBI to ensure seamless integration and processing of data from various sources.

Implement strategies to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across all reporting systems.

Build and optimize Fabric and PowerBI models, including complex, large-scale models to support analytics and reporting needs.

Write complex DAX formulas to create calculated columns, measures, and custom visualizations.

Author and optimize DAX queries for performance and efficiency in large datasets.

Write, optimize, and troubleshoot advanced SQL scripts and Fabric tools for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).

Ensure optimal performance of PowerBI models and reports, including addressing performance bottlenecks and scalability strategies.

Required Skills / Abilities :

Proven experience as a PowerBI Data Engineer or similar role.

Expert-level proficiency in PowerBI, including Power Query, DAX, and data modeling.

Expert-level SQL scripting skills with experience handling large datasets.

Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.

Fabric experience needed

Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Education and Experience :

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

5+ years' experience in Data Analytics

5+ years' experience in PowerBI

10+ years' experience with SQL

Microsoft Fabric Platform knowledge and understanding of architecture
