Position Summary :

The San Francisco Giants are seeking an Analyst to join the Baseball Operations department.  This individual will be part of the R&D team with primary focuses to create decision-making tools and to provide research and analysis to support the Baseball Operations department.  The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, the ability to communicate effectively to non-technical people, and both passion and intellectual curiosity for the game of baseball.

Position Responsibilities :

• Provide statistical analysis and quantitative research to support the Major League staff
• Advance system quality control
• Support player plan goal setting and tracking
• Educate coaches and players on key performance indicators, new R&D research / tooling. This role will play a key role in creating and executing education material in conjunction with other members of R&D and Performance Science teams.
• Collaborate with engineering team to design and integrate tools into existing baseball information system
• Work with emerging baseball technology and data sets
• Maintain understanding of new public baseball research and emerging statistical tools, as well as all potential vendor data / technology options

At the San Francisco Giants, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $70,000 to $75,000 ,and will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors the San Francisco Giants consider relevant to the hiring decision.
