Our client is an industry leader in mission-critical power and energy solutions , serving Fortune 500 data centers, utilities, hospitals, universities, and major industrial facilities. They're seeking a Field Sales Engineer to join their growing team and lead technical sales efforts across the region—helping customers design and deploy customized, high-reliability power systems.
About the Role
This is a customer-facing technical role that blends engineering knowledge with sales strategy. You'll work across the full project lifecycle—from concept and system design to commissioning and customer handoff—developing and delivering custom-engineered critical power solutions that keep essential operations running.
You'll collaborate closely with Sales Managers, Manufacturer Reps, and Engineering teams to ensure each project meets stringent technical standards while delivering clear business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical expert for low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems (switchgear, transfer switches, load banks, generator docking stations, and power conversion systems).
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities in data centers, healthcare, utilities, and industrial sectors.
- Conduct site assessments and design custom-engineered power solutions tailored to client requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering to prepare proposals, technical specs, and system designs aligned with customer and industry standards.
- Deliver compelling technical presentations and value-driven proposals to end users, engineers, and contractors.
- Manage the full sales cycle : prospecting, qualification, proposal, negotiation, and close.
- Provide application support during installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Maintain long-term client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay current on industry trends, standards (NEC, UL), and competitor technologies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).10+ years of experience in critical power systems, electrical distribution, or industrial power equipment —in design, management, or sales.Strong working knowledge of NEC and UL standards .Proven ability to explain complex technical concepts to both engineers and business stakeholders.Experience supporting sales or business development through technical design and specification work.Proficiency with CRM systems , Excel , PowerPoint , and common business tools.Willingness to travel 50–70% within your assigned territory. Will go down to 30% after first 6 months
