About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Governmental Affairs and Strategy to lead its strategic advocacy efforts and drive meaningful environmental change. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with elected officials, legislative staff, and government agencies at all levels. This role involves monitoring, tracking, and analyzing legislation and regulatory proposals, as well as developing and implementing advocacy strategies to advance the organization's policy priorities. The Vice President will also be involved in representing the organization in various forums, drafting policy documents, and coordinating partnerships with coalitions and stakeholders. Applicants for the Vice President position should have a minimum of 7 years' experience in policy, strategy, public policy, and / or legislative work, with a preference for those who have experience working within or directly with regulatory agencies. The role requires a strong leader with the ability to manage and develop a team, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, adept at problem-solving, and able to navigate complex policy and political environments. Responsibilities also include overseeing the organization's engagement in litigation, legislation, and rulemaking, as well as project management, budget development, and supporting the grants team.
