2+ years of Labor and Delivery experience

Advanced skills in NRP, ACLS, BLS, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring

Description :

This role involves working in a Labor and Delivery unit.

The unit consists of 9 labor rooms, 6 triage rooms, 3 Assessment and Procedures rooms, and 3 operating rooms.

Patient ratios are 1 : 1-2 for laboring patients, 1 : 2-3 for Assessment and Procedures, and 1 : 1 for cesarean sections and PACU.

An OB technician is always present to assist with cesarean sections and vaginal deliveries.

A dedicated charge nurse assists with triage and transport of patients.

A unit secretary is available from 0700 to 2300.

The documentation system used in the unit includes Meditech and Centricity.

Staffing requirements entail working 3 shifts per week, with a possibility of working 1-2 days or evenings during winter holidays.

Floating may occur to Mother Baby, but infrequently.

Candidates must possess advanced skills such as cervical exams, IUPC and FSE placements, vaginal deliveries, IV starts with lab draws, and circulating cesarean sections.

Recovery of cesarean sections is commonly performed under spinal anesthesia, with occasional general anesthesia.

Our facility has a monthly birth volume exceeding 200 deliveries.

The organization is experiencing significant growth with the addition of new practices and healthcare providers.

We are proud to offer nitrous oxide therapy for pain management, alongside epidural analgesia.

Recent renovations include new, state-of-the-art mother-baby rooms.

Our team utilizes advanced tools such as the Jada, fetal pillow, and Cook's catheters.

Most nursing staff members have completed Spinning Babies or Supporting Vaginal Birth classes to enhance patient care and outcomes.
