Position Summary

The Lead Engineer is responsible for supervising and performing maintenance tasks throughout the property, ensuring all systems and equipment are operating efficiently. This role includes hands-on work, team leadership, and coordination with other departments to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily maintenance operations and assign tasks to engineering staff.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and brand standards.
  • Assist with capital improvement projects and renovations.
  • Train and mentor engineering team members.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred.
  • Minimum 23 years of hotel or commercial building maintenance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Leadership experience and ability to manage a small team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment and tools.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and on-call availability.
