Description : Job Summary :
This position will be located at the new Community Justice Campus (CJC). The Purchasing Supervisor will oversee personnel, daily dock activities such as receiving and storing material, managing inventory levels, ensuring the efficient delivery of material, supervising stuff, and operating the dock.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Plan, direct and control procedural method of purchasing which is compatible with current accepted purchasing standards and practices.
- Plan, direct and control the daily operation of three stockrooms, utilized by the Building Authority’s Downtown, Mobile Operations, Community Justice Campus.
- Direct and control the daily operations of the Building Authority’s Downtown, Mobile Operations, Community Justice Campus’s receiving dock, shipping and distribution of material throughout the building.
- Train employees on the use of Custom Maintenance Management Software (AMMS).
- Supervise and train all Building Authority purchasing department personnel
- Maintain current catalog files, vendor lists, supply lists and material and labor cost lists.
- Prepare, review and approve daily purchase requisitions and monthly blanket requisitions.
- Oversee and manage the receipt, verification, identification, categorization, storage and distribution of purchased material and tools.
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining an adequate inventory of material and tools in all stockrooms.
- Direct and expedite material to meet with operations scheduled projects.
- Direct and manage the data entry operation of materials and labor costs for Building Authority alternations, estimates and work orders.
- Manage the requisition, receipt, and identification of all repairs of Building Authority tools and equipment.
- Direct, purchase and maintain records of all employee uniforms.
- Control and maintain material safety data sheets for all chemicals stocked in tool cribs and all shops.
- Arrange for pickup and disposal of waste paint, oil, ballast, etc.
- Prepare, review and revise bid specifications for contract supplies including but not limited to replacement lamps, paper products and air filters used in facilities managed by the Building Authority.
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Equipment used :
Purchasing Supervisors are expected to be familiar with various tools and equipment including but not limited to Two-Wheel Dollies, Pallet Jacks, Forklift / Stacker, Fax Machine, Copier / Scanner, AMMS Custom Maintenance Management Software, Printers, Basic Computer Programs, and Two-Way Radio.
