Chief Estimator / Head of Estimating

Location : Based in Napa, CA (on-site role with projects based across the Bay Area as needed)

Compensation : $135,000 – $165,000 / year

Projects range from custom residential estates to large-scale commercial hospitality installations — often involving full-scope packages that include pools, landscapes, hardscapes, and softscapes.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead and mentor the estimating team — assigning bids, managing performance, and supporting professional development
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and RFPs for complex landscape and pool projects
• Oversee quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
• Present polished, competitive proposals aligned with both client needs and company profitability targets
• Standardize and continually improve estimating workflows, SOPs, and documentation
• Maintain and optimize estimating tools such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, and LMN
• Serve as a key contact point for clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout the bid process
• Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to ensure seamless project handoffs and execution
