About the Role

The State of Ohio - Department of Public Safety is seeking a UI / UX Programmer experienced in designing modern, intuitive, and user-centered interfaces. The selected consultant will collaborate directly with business users, IT supervisors, and project managers to design user-friendly and accessible applications that meet ODPS standards.

This role involves prototyping, user research, agile collaboration, and front-end integration with backend systems. A strong design portfolio and technical expertise in ASP.NET, C#, JavaScript, and Figma are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Design wireframes, prototypes, and intuitive user interfaces for complex applications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and business analysts within an Agile environment.
• Develop and maintain a Design System Library for UI reusability.
• Conduct user research and testing to validate design concepts.
• Ensure UI design follows security and accessibility best practices .
• Integrate front-end components with backend systems.
• Lead and mentor UI / UX design initiatives across the team.

Candidate Requirements

Must be an Ohio resident .

Must work onsite at the Shipley Building (Columbus, OH).

Must be able to attend in-person interviews .

Must pass an ODPS background check .

Must present a portfolio demonstrating past UI / UX projects.

Compensation : $61.00 per hour
