Job Overview : The CPA will collaborate with advisors and leadership to integrate tax planning into financial advice and optimize the overall firms financial health. This role is central in delivering advanced tax strategies to our clients including individuals, families, and business owners while also ensuring that our firm operates under the most effective tax and financial strategies
Reports To : Vice President
Responsibilities :
- Partner with Financial Advisors to deliver coordinated and financial planning strategies
- Provide proactive tax planning to minimize client liabilities and maximize wealth-building opportunities
- Prepare, review, and file tax returns for all business entities, identifying deductions and credits, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with leadership to optimize tax strategies.
- Oversee and process company payroll, including wage calculations, deductions, benefits contributions, and tax withholdings, ensuring full compliance with GAAP, IRS, and state reporting requirements.
- Advise business-owner clients on entity selection, succession planning, cash flow management, and tax efficiency
- Provide financial analysis and forecasting to strengthen firm profitability
- Stay current on evolving tax codes and regulations that may impact the firm or our clients
- Assist with complex client tax issues (capital gains, estate planning, retirement distributions, multi-state taxation)
- Translate complex tax laws into clear, actionable strategies for clients
- Participating in client meetings to present tax insights and planning opportunities
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple business clients and our firm, ensuring accurate financial records and timely reporting.
- Process tax payments & monitor deadlines to ensure compliance with all local, state, & federal laws
- Prepare, manage, and analyze Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, ensuring accurate financial reporting and identifying trends, while supporting strategic decisions by providing clear tax and financial insights
- Lead monthly budget meetings, facilitating discussions, reviewing financial performance, and guiding the team in strategic decision-making.
- All other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications / Skills :
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldMasters degree in Taxation or Accounting preferredActive CPA licensure required2+ years of tax / accounting experience, including individual and business taxation preferredStrong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.Experience with Quickbooks and Drake Tax Software strongly preferredAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously, especially during high-volume periods like tax season.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and CRM systems.Ability to handle sensitive client information confidentially and professionally.What Buska offers :
