Description :

The CVICU is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse.

The position involves working three 12-hour night shifts.

The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1 : 2.

Float may be required.

Travel experience is not required.

Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year experience in CVICU.

Certifications including ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC are preferred.

Skills necessary for this role include :

• Accessing ports
• Arterial line management
• Assisting with chest tube insertion and removal
• Management of BiPAP and CPAP
• Blood product administration
• Care for ventilated patients
• Central line care and management
• Management of chronic and acute renal failure
• Continuous IV sedation
• CVA and acute stroke management
• CRRT and ECMO experience preferred
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias
• Management of multisystem organ dysfunction and failure
• Neuro intensive care unit experience
• PICC line management
• Post cardiac surgery management
• Pre and post cardiac catheterization / intervention
• Procedural sedation administration
• Ventilator management

The unit will provide support from interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.

Patient diagnoses may include CHF, MI, sepsis, stroke, trauma, and respiratory failure.

Special procedures may involve ECMO, hemodialysis, and bedside procedures.

Candidates should be prepared to engage with complex patient loads and conditions.

Strong critical thinking and clinical skills are essential.
