About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

License : Current State RN License

Certifications : ACLS, BLS

Must-Have : Must be able to perform independently

Description :

Looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to start as soon as possible.

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and at least 1 year in Stress Testing.

The RN will work independently.

Stress testing occurs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

The current RN performs an average of 4-6 tests per day.

The RN will work independently; a cardiologist may be on site, or they will work under the supervision of a Hospitalist / ER MD for emergencies and questions.

The RN will collaborate with a Nuclear Medicine Technician who administers medications.

Special procedures in this unit include Exercise Echocardiograms, Dobutamine Exercise Echocardiograms, and Nuclear Medicine Stress Tests (Lexiscan).

Required skills include performing 12 Lead EKGs, Exercise Stress Tests, Pharmacological Stress Tests, and Stress Echoes.

Candidates should be proficient in ergometry protocols for arms, legs, and bicycles, as well as treadmill protocols including Balke, Bruce, Modified Bruce, and others.

The RN must understand indications for terminating procedures and monitoring / test interpretation.

Emergency medications and management of dysrhythmias are also essential skills.

The RN will be responsible for starting peripheral IVs, follow-up phone calls, and providing discharge instructions.
