Job description

Job Title : Data Engineer with COBOL

Location : Smithfield, Rhode Island (Hybrid Once a Week)

Duration : Long Term Contract

Candidates who are willing to work on our W2 would be eligible. (W2 Candidates only)

All Visa including US Citizens, Green Cards, TN Visa, H4 EAD and L2 EAD are eligible.

Job Description

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a technology related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) required.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in Data engineering, data warehousing and analytics technologies
  • 7+ years of experience with Relational Databases (Preferably in Oracle)
  • Not moving, but understand stored procedures
  • dvanced experience with SQL and complex queries (should be able to debug)
  • 5+ Experience with Informatica or any other ETL tools data integration and data movement design patterns (called via shell scripts)
  • 5 + Experience in Shell scripting (K-Shell, Bash)
  • 5 + years of experience working on Linux and AIX (proficient in at least one of these)
  • bility to understand and code in COBOL and Pro
  • Not coding in COBOL. However, they need to understand COBOL code and ensure it works. How to compile and how to make it run.
  • Solid understanding of domain-based design, data modeling and data structures
  • Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (understanding of DevOps)
  • Your ability to collaborate with other technical and business minds in the organization.
  • Your experience in executing projects in an Agile environment (Kanban and Scrum)

Nice to have :

  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with Apache Tomcat
  • Experience with business intelligence and analytics tools such as OBIEE
  • Experience in AWS, Azure, Airflow is preferred.
  • Experience in CICD automation tools
  • Good understanding of financial services.
