A leading private-label food manufacturer is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Procurement to oversee purchasing operations and drive cost efficiencies across a high-volume production environment. This company supplies major retailers across North America with premium frozen food products, recognized for quality, innovation, and operational excellence.

Position Overview

The Director of Procurement will lead sourcing strategy, purchasing execution, and supplier performance for all key ingredients and packaging materials. This role ensures cost-effective buying, reliable supply, and compliance with food safety and quality standards while supporting business growth and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing for raw materials including proteins, dairy, wheat / crusts, sauces, vegetables, and packaging components.
• Develop and execute category strategies that deliver cost savings and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to performance and quality metrics.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, R&D, Quality, Finance, and Commercial teams on new products and productivity initiatives.
• Analyze market trends, commodity fluctuations, and supplier capabilities to support strategic decision-making.
• Lead and mentor a small team of procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.

Qualifications

This is a high-impact opportunity for a procurement leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about driving operational excellence across the supply chain. Compensation : $160,000 to $180,000. Benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage.
