Special Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent. Must have medical terminology course OR a formal medical secretary course OR completed a 2 year

Health Science Technology Program. Previous medical field experience preferred. Must have computer experience. Must have SC Nurse

Aide Certification OR passed fundamentals in RN / LPN School of Nursing OR completion of Surg Tech or EMT course OR completed Patient

Care Tech course (with CNA certification). BLS certified.

If Sec / PCT II : worked in at least 2 units independently; delivered one inservice or participated in one special project; was a positive role

model for students / peers; was a preceptor if needed.

If Sec / PCT III : worked in at least 3 units independently or covered 2+ roles; delivered / participated in two inservices and / or special

projects; was a positive role model for students / peers; was a preceptor
