Job Title : Facilities Mechanic

Job Description

The Facilities Mechanic is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks requiring the skills and experience of a skilled facility associate. This includes tasks such as replacing windows, repairing plumbing issues, and maintaining apartment appliances.

Responsibilities

• Replace windows, window glass, screens, and spouting.
• Repair plumbing issues including clogged drains, pipes, faucets, and toilets.
• Repair covers for switches and outlets.
• Replace and repair apartment appliances, including ranges and refrigerators.
• Prepare vacant units for new occupancy by patching and painting walls, replacing cabinets and countertops, and stripping and waxing floors.
• Perform necessary plumbing and electrical upgrades as needed.

Work Environment

The position involves working both indoors and outdoors, requiring physical exertion common to the construction and maintenance industries. It includes long periods of standing and walking on rough terrain and involves exposure to various weather conditions and temperature extremes. The role requires heavy lifting up to 50 pounds and the ability to manipulate hand tools. A professional appearance and the ability to maintain a positive image for the Authority is essential. The position requires participation in an on-call rotation after the probationary period, with all on-call working hours compensated at 1.5 times the regular rate. The regular workweek consists of 37.5 hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00 / hr.
