JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager at the Lincoln Community Connections Centers, the Shuttle Driver successfully transports individuals between pick-up and delivery locations with a high degree of care and service. Embodies the Vista Care BEST CARE Values supporting our mission and Vision. The Shuttle Driver must demonstrate a high level of care and concern for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and must maintain a strong attention to detail and prompt daily attendance.
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY :
- Safely transports individuals between pick-up and delivery locations.
- Maintains daily transportation log.
- Inspects vehicles daily and reports any issues to immediate supervisor.

- Performs other related duties as required or requested.
- Adheres to transportation schedule to ensure individuals to get to and from appointments timely and safely
- Completes initial and ongoing learning and training requirements and associated competencies within required timeframes
- Demonstrates punctual and consistent daily attendance
- Demonstrates care and concern for individuals supported
- Respects the rights of individuals served, including being familiar with Individual Rights and ensuring a supervisor is informed of any issues related to the rights of those served with a sense of urgency.
- Acts as an advocate for individuals supported and served, ensuring they are treated with dignity and respect at all times.
- Maintains professional boundaries at all times with individuals served, guardians, other team members, etc.
- Promotes a positive and collaborative environment of teamwork with other staff

Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of ageHigh School Diploma or GED required4+ years of relevant experience preferredMust possess a valid Illinois CDL driver’s license and be deemed an acceptable company driver in accordance with Vista Care standards and have the ability to obtain CDL within a reasonable timeframe. Valid driver’s license and clear driving record in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and Vista Care’s best practices required if position requires transport of persons served in a company owned vehicle. Authorization must be provided to Vista Care to obtain a DMV record which can be approved for coverage by our company insurance carrier.Ability to handle complex issues and problemsHealthcare-related driving preferredPrevious experience in transportation of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) preferredExperience in human services, customer service, or a related field preferredPrior experience in residential services and supports for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.Clear background check in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and Vista Care’s best practicesConsistently demonstrate effective decision-making abilities, strong communication skills, and computer literacyWORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Ability to walk, bend, push, pull and lift repetitively during work hoursAbility to sit for extended periods of time while drivingExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsMust have visual and auditory acuity that is adequate to operate a vehicle safelySelf-motivated and able to complete required tasks without direct supervisionAble to read, write, acknowledge and adhere to all Vista Care policies and proceduresThis position will interact with individuals who are intellectually and developmentally disabled and may be frail or confused and have the potential for verbal or physical aggression.Benefits
