The Role

Joining a new and fast-growing division of Canopius, helping build a market-leading Portfolio Solutions offering globally. This role will be the first such role in the US and will spearhead our offering with our US trading partners and be an ambassador for Canopius Portfolio Solutions internally and externally. The role will require a portfolio mindset - you may come from an actuarial or reinsurance background or a highly quantitative underwriter - looking to get into the underwriting of portfolio trackers. It will include highly technical portfolio analysis and plenty underwriter and client engagement. You will help us build out our brand in local markets as we develop innovative portfolio products within profitable guidelines and regulations. Key to the role will be to drive the data strategy and intelligence gathering from CPS and disseminate this into the wider Group.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors loss ratios and profitability of portfolios, regularly monitors actual and expected pricing experience, works with stakeholders to build and deliver key performance indicator reports.
  • Day-day-contract management with broker partners
  • Drive insights into CPS business and develops high-quality, regular reporting and monitoring of all contracts
  • Assessment of underwriting guidelines, monthly monitoring of contracts and dissemination of information and intelligence to the wider open market underwriting teams.
  • Acts as a technical expert internally, representing the division in all internal matters.
  • Help develop Portfolio Analytics across the division
  • Seeks new opportunities and explores collaboration internally with innovative insights.
  • Ensures all work conducted in line with company policies and with high-quality documentation.
  • Plans and organizes own work, maintaining a high-level of communication within the team.
  • Fosters a positive culture in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
