Minimum Qualifications

Four years of experience in the construction, maintenance, or repair of roads, bridges, levees, drainage facilities, wharfs, buildings, or grounds; OR Four years of experience in the operation or maintenance of industrial or heavy mobile equipment. Experience in any combination of the qualifying fields will be accepted.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties :

• Supervises crews in bituminous and concrete roadway maintenance and repairs, also the repair of all shoulders. Supervises the correct use and placement of traffic control devices for all maintenance operations performed. Supervises crews in drainage maintenance, digging ditches, cleaning drains and repair of pipes and culverts.
• Supervises crews in litter removal, mowing operations and tree cutting within the right-of-way. Supervises maintenance of all equipment assigned to unit and the maintenance of building and grounds.
• Ensures correct completion and timely submittal of all documents and reports associated with work functions performed. Prepares work reports in Agile Assets. Prepares daily work reports and other maintenance reports such as complaints, daily work reports, material pick up sheets, supply order forms, haul tickets, vendor tickets, leave application, maintenance logs on vehicles and equipment, accident reports and inventory lists. Operates and collects data using a Tablet to report the utilization of manpower and equipment in addition to the consumption of materials. Monitors all inventory items including assigned tools, equipment and materials. Uses the Continuous Performance Management (CPM) to plan and evaluate employee's performances.
• Assigns jobs to be accomplished by maintenance personnel. Inspects condition of maintenance equipment. Investigates complaints from the public and helps resolve complaint. Trains maintenance crews on equipment and the proper safety procedures.
